Our Elder Helpline can provide you with information and referral assistance on programs and services available to meet your needs or the needs of your elderly loved ones, including Long Term Care and other home-based services. Our staff pride themselves on being thorough, helpful and friendly.
Medicare Help
Our specially-trained SHINE volunteers can assist you with your Medicare, Medicaid, prescription drug and health insurance questions by providing information, comparing policies and helping with claims and appeals. We’re here to help!
Elder Abuse Prevention
We work directly with state and community partners to prevent the abuse, neglect and exploitation of seniors.

Health & Wellness
We offer a number of free health and wellness courses including Tai Chi, Matter of Balance, Living Healthy , Diabetes Empowerment Education Program, Living Healthy in Your Community. Learn what you can do to keep yourself healthy and strong.
Caregiver Support
If you are a caregiver supporting a loved one who is age 60 or older and you reside in Hillsborough, Hardee, Highlands, Manatee, or Polk County, TCARE’s customized support is available to help guide you through your caregiving journey and reduce caregiver burnout.

Senior Connection Center has teamed up with several senior-friendly companies to offer helpful and easy-to-use tools designed especially for older adults. Options include online classes, and robotic pets, all at no cost to you.

Training/Support Services
Senior Connection Center, Inc. (SCC) is the designated Area Agency on Aging (AAA) for Planning and Service Area 6 (PSA 6), encompassing Hardee, Highlands, Hillsborough, Manatee, and Polk counties, as appointed by the Florida Department of Elder Affairs (DOEA). The DOEA has also designated SCC as the contracting agency responsible for coordinating and administering the Older Americans Act (OAA) Program within PSA 6.
At this time, we are seeking responses to this Request for Information (RFI) from qualified agencies interested in Caregiver Support Groups and Caregiver Training/Support Services under the OAA Program to older persons residing in PSA 6. Interested organizations are required to have the organizational capacity to provide services throughout the entire PSA effective January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026. Interested agencies must also have the ability to meet the necessary funding match requirements detailed in this RFI.

Young Search Partners has been retained by the Board of Directors of Senior Connection Center to recruit its next President and CEO who will serve as its ambassador & strategic business leader to move the organization forward and leverage opportunities to continue to support and advance its mission.
The University of South Florida recently completed a needs assessment report for Senior Connection Center. The purpose of this report is to provide information about the existing challenges, needs, and strengths related to serving older adults in Senior Connection Center’s five-county service area, with the larger goal of informing strategies to enable older adults to live with independence and dignity.
